Role Purpose
Under general supervision, using prevailing engineering design procedures, standards and codes and relying on experience and judgement to prepare engineering and technical drawings of intermediate complexity, and in some circumstances generate original designs to depict the layout and equipment arrangement so as to support the Engineers in conducting their engineering planning, design and construction work.
Key Accountabilities
- Prepares complete sets of intermediate engineering drawings which include drawings from multiple views, detailed and fabrication drawings
- Prepares layout design of equipment, components, structures, outfitting and systems, from sketches, marked-up prints
- Develops 3D model for marine/topside in Aveva E3D as per 2D drawings and maintains 3D model accuracy
- Calculate material weight and prepares MTOs
- Prepares documentation, information and communication such as Engineering Change Notices (ECN's), engineering specifications, design reports
- Performs rework on designs and drawings repeatedly (if required) due to revised parameters or change of concept and ideas by Engineers
- Performs final drafting review to ensure comprehensive dimensional data is provided for engineering or fabrication purposes
- Ensures that the drawings provide dimensional tolerances as required and defined or designed by the manufacturers or Engineers so as to ensure proper assembly fit
- Prepares 2D/3D drawings, 3D models, documentation and presentation slides as part of technical specifications and presentations for project proposal
- Performs administrative duties and design related tasks such as transferring drawings from computer to printing hardcopy as assigned. Maintains and ensures that the Engineering team receives all necessary inputs to maintain the MDR schedule
- Prepares time estimates for review prior to commencement of assigned work
Qualifications
- Diploma in Civil / Structural / Mechanical / Ship Building Engineering with 5 years relevant working experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and material take-off
- Knowledge of standard drafting techniques applicable to offshore industry
- Basic AVEVA Everything 3D
- Intermediate Autodesk Navisworks Simulate
- Intermediate Autodesk Navisworks Freedom
