MODEC is looking for Engineering Manager (Marine/Topside) to be based in Kuala Lumpur.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering with 20+ years of experience
- Must have experience in FPSO Engineering Management for at least 1 FPSO
- Must have knowledge of all interfaces between Topside & Marine Engineering, facilities/systems of FPSO and working of all process, mechanical, piping, structure, electrical & telecom, instrumentation & marine engineering.
- Must have adequate knowledge of design codes and regulatory requirements for EPCI project.
- Familiar with the use of Software, Database systems related to Engineering functions
- Understanding and interpretation of total project life cycle cost and benefits as well as their implications during FEED and EPCI phases of projects.
- Adequate knowledge of design codes and regulator requirements within an EPCI project.
Accountabilities
- Engineering Management – To deliver FPSO Topsides and/or Marine engineering and design within budget, schedule and quality
- Leadership – leading and cultivating p high performance Engineering organization, delivering consistent engineering design of FPSO.
- Setup of all Engineering and Design Systems – A robust engineering execution platform for delivery of Detailed Engineering meeting all contractual requirements.
- Management of changes – Implementation of engineering change management for the engineering post design freeze in all disciplines including communication, tracking and approval by the relevant stakeholders
- Communication – Conduct engineering meetings internally with sub-contractors , with Client ,and with other external agencies. prepare minutes of meetings and engineering progress report.
- People Management – Motive the team to perform, provide performance feedback, forecast and manage engineering resources on the project
- Compliance – Conduct internal engineering team meetings, lead engineering meetings with the client and other external agencies, prepare minutes of meetings, progress reports, participate in meetings with the client and communicate clearly.
- Engineering Budget – Develop Engineering manning plan, engineering software budget , Third party study budget, approve topsides engineering related variation orders from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Engineering Resources – Lead in forecasting and mobilizing engineering and design resources for the over engineering team in the project
- Engineering Reviews – Ensure all applicable engineering reviews of the project for both topsides and marine are planned, conducted, and closed out in a timely manner.
- Problem Solving – Lead in developing solutions to complex problems by analyzing, interpreting and evaluating various precedents and data. Shall be capable of interfacing with Clients on problem solving.
- Subcontractor Management – shall be capable of managing one or more Engineering Subcontractors appointed on the project including their cost, quality and schedule performance.
