Purpose

To independently define critical deliverables, plan, manage, control, approve and deliver telecom engineering deliverables required for the assigned project effectively and efficiently according to specified technical requirements, timelines and budget, manage project resources and independently deal with and resolve all Telecom related technical issues of the project, and provide guidance to the assigned team.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the specific technical requirements for telecoms, of the assigned project (including Construction, Commissioning and Offshore assignment) and Industry Standard, Classification Society and Regulatory requirements.
  • Development and review of documents including drawrings to ensure requirements of specified discipline are met in delivery of project. Plans, reviews and approves the deliverables prepared by Engineers and reviewed by Senior Engineers.
  • To ensure productivity of team including Senior Engineers in the team to develop engineering specifications (drawings, data sheets, etc) specific to the assigned project, reviews them and validates with the Project Manager and client.
  • Complies with the MODEC HSSEQ Code of Conduct as described in the HSSEQ Policies, and the HSEQ Procedures to protect people and the environment at all times. Has a duty of care to ensure that all personnel work in a manner that is not harmful to all.
  • Complies with MODEC Group’s Code of Business Conduct & Ethics and Policies to ensure business activities and decisions conform to the laws and regulations and demonstrates high standard of ethical behaviour.
  • To ensure required information is communicated between all parties and work is compliant with quality standards.
  • Independently evaluates all the bids received for Telecom packages from various suppliers, performs a technical bid evaluation process, involves in cost estimation, ensures selected vendors meet technical/engineering and delivery requirements as stated.
  • Independently manages/develops solutions to technical/engineering and related problems by analyzing the issues/data, interpreting the analysis and evaluating various options/measures using experience, precedents and professional references.
  • Visits suppliers, checks and tests Electrical items to ensure that they function as per specifications. Where necessary, works with the concerned suppliers/contractors to rectify the issues and ensures that they comply with the specifications and are ready on time.
  • Review new project bids along with the team, and support existing offshore projects for any telecom related issues.


Requirements:

  • Master/Bachelor Degree in Telecom/Electronic Engineering
  • Professional Diploma in Telecom/Electronic Engineering
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant working experience in Telecom engineering in Oil and Gas sector or minimum of 11 years relevant working experience for Master degree holder.
  • Familiarity with FPSO/FSO and market practices in the Oil and Gas sector.
