Purpose:

To prepare the fundamental engineering deliverables of Process in Hull for the assigned project as per the specified technical requirements, timelines, and budget with minimal guidance and to identify recurring basic engineering issues and resolve them.

Responsibilities:

  • Understands the project specific specifications and requirements of the assigned project (may include Construction, Commissioning and Offshore assignment) and Industry Standard, Classification Society and Regulatory requirements.
  • Develops design philosophies, engineering specifications, PFD, P&ID drawings, data sheets, calculations, and equipment sizing specific to the assigned project and validates them with the Lead Engineer.
  • Supports seniors to draft and consolidate other documents such as philosophies, study reports etc.
  • Independently prepares the technical reports (process simulation basis, heat and material balance, process control description, utility summary, line list, and set point list), safe chart and Process C&E for the assigned project.
  • Independently develops solutions to technical/engineering and related problems by analyzing the issues/data, interpreting the analysis, and evaluating various options/measures using experience, precedents, and professional references.
  • Participates in safety meetings, explains the process system to the committee and closes the observations and recommendations in a timely manner.
  • Participates in key stakeholder (Client / Supplier / Sub‐contractor / Class) meetings, reviews stakeholders’ documents and addresses interface/implementation/execution issues and escalates where necessary to ensure that the project proceeds timely and smoothly.
  • Provides technical/engineering support and advice to Construction/Commissioning work at site, trouble shoots and follows up to rectify the gaps or problems. Where necessary, provides off‐ site support and advice.
  • Is responsible for capturing lessons learned in his/her functional area, entering in MIMS, and closing out project related MIMS actions.
  • Performs preliminary PSV set pressure calculations, Line sizing calculations, settle‐out calculations in accordance with alarm set points and design limitations.
  • Performs verification of vendors’ information and perform necessary calculations (e.g. Scrubber level settings, strainer pressure drop) to determine if design requirements are met.
  • Performs verification of General Arrangement drawings and mark up to highlight any discrepancies in design specifications (e.g. Vessels & exchangers nozzle allocation).
  • Assist to develop solutions to the less complex range of technical/engineering and related problems by analyzing the issues/data, interpreting the analysis, and proposing various options/measures using experience, precedents, and professional references.
  • Independently or under supervision of Project Process Lead engineer evaluates the Process requirement for other packages in the project and contributes to technical bid evaluation process, and ensures selected vendors meet technical/engineering and delivery requirements as stipulated in the project specifications and gives assessment in consultation with Lead Engineer to the Package Engineer.
  • Job function and responsibilities to be assigned based on individual experience and knowledge.
